Economy & Job Creation
Unless business has confidence there will be slower investments or risks taken. That is why the Nevada Legislature must provide tax incentives to small businesses that create jobs while continuing to attract large corporations to our state. Some of my ideas include:
Invite (recruit), as never before, businesses in at least one large neighboring state to come to a business friendly environment. Our state has a skilled-unemployed workforce, affordable homes, great deals on commercial spaces, low taxes, lean government, cultural and climate diversity, medical innovations such as the Ruvo Center, Nevada Cancer Institute.
Consider the cost of unemployment to the State of Nevada when a business hires or rehires a person by allowing a tax break for such a situation.
Expand the definition of “a small business” to at least $1 Million in payroll.
Perpetual employment loans allowed to create a revolving loan passed on to the next worthwhile start up ultra-small, “Mom and Pop” type operations.
Get the online “Business Portal” up and running ASAP, saving time and effort for businesses using the web to use our online “one stop shop” concept.
Extend the time for State funded Capital Improvement Projects (CIPs) bonding limit. This would allow more projects during this time of cheaper costs and when the workforce is available.
